Transforming Spaces Toolkit (Pembrokeshire County Council)
This project aims to develop a web presence which will sit within the Pembrokeshire County Council’s (PCC) main site; its purpose will be to design and construct a web-based community development tool.
The toolkit offers Pembrokeshire communities an easily accessible 24-hour ‘one stop shop’ which enables anyone embarking on a new project or developing an existing one to obtain a wide range of web-based information and advice. This enables community members to be more involved with local regeneration, social activities and environmental projects. It was informed through consultation using questionnaires and face-to-face interviews with community members, community groups and statutory and third sector officers who work with communities.
Allocating only two days a week to this project has proved problematic in the light of arranging meetings with busy community members, groups and officers and has prolonged the project.
”The Toolkit has offered Pembrokeshire communities as easily accessible 24 hour ‘one stop shop’ which enables anyone embarking on a new project or developing an existing one to obtain a wide range of information and advice. As the Toolkit further develops it will allow different community groups to network and share their experiences, ideas and resources. It will also offer examples of projects to inspire groups and demonstrate good practice.”
Arwain Sir Benfro and the LEADER Programme concluded in December 2021 once all projects were completed and funding exhausted. There is now no dedicated support upon the completion of the LEADER Programme in Pembrokeshire. Should you have any queries, PLANED as the previous administrators, may be able to assist, or similarly for wider questions on the LEADER Programme in Wales, please contact the Wales European Funding Office (WEFO).
