We believe that taking LEADER’s themes into consideration when writing any funding application or project plan demonstrates best practice in community project development. LEADER is a community-led, bottom-up approach that encourages cross-sector partnership working, networking and cooperation. In Wales, all projects and activities were linked to one of the LEADER themes, which are:

  1. Adding value to local identity and natural and cultural resources
  2. Facilitating pre-commercial development, business partnerships and short supply chains
  3. Exploring new ways of providing non-statutory local services
  4. Renewable energy at community level
  5. Exploitation of digital technology

You can learn more about the LEADER principles and themes here.

Arwain Sir Benfro supported 66 projects through the Local Action Group across Pembrokeshire.  You can learn more about the achievements and next steps of the projects in the evaluation report and in the project pages.
