Supporting People with Learning Disabilities and Autism (PWLD/A) to engage with digital technology utilising a range of activities to support learning and safety. To develop alongside this a training programme around internet safety and accessibility that can be offered to other agencies such as schools, third sector groups etc. We have over 300+ members within our database, and we are encountering more PWLD/A every day, particularly those with high functioning Autism.
With the different strands of this project we will be able to offer opportunities for all our members to access digital technology and information. The key to this project will be to use our unique skills and awareness of the particular issues facing PWLD/A to enable them to participate in the opportunities we intend to offer. Whilst there may be similar options available within the county, our members typically can’t and/or won’t access these due to their specific needs.
