£32,063.00 of funding for – LEAF Project

Arwain Sir Benfro supports £32,063.00 of funding for – LEAF Project Arwain Sir Benfro – the Local Action Group (LAG) for Pembrokeshire, administered by PLANED – have recently provided funding to Tir Coed. This is funded through the LEADER programme, which is part of the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020, Funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
The LEAF (Learning to Enable Achievement and Fulfilment) Project is designed to enable deep rooted change in each participant’s life, offering bespoke progression that works with the skills and aspirations of the individual. This project empowers individuals to help themselves to become independent.
Amongst the services LEAF offers across Pembrokeshire are intensive week training programmes, activity days, mentoring support into work placements, mentoring into self-employment, an Agored Cymru workbook to be developed and piloted and cross-county learning by piloting different partnerships in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.
Via a woodland environment and learning experiences tailored to specific groups; self-esteem will be boosted and individuals given real practical and transferable skills, by these actions, society will ultimately be strengthened.

Work undertaken by volunteers will improve the aesthetic value of the landscape, important to people and supportive to wildlife, and will foster more community pride and enjoyment of the locality.
This is just one example of the great projects being delivered in the county. PLANED, now celebrating its 30th year, has helped communities in Pembrokeshire to access over £25m worth of funding during that time.
Arwain Sir Benfro is currently inviting submissions of project ideas from local community groups, organisations or businesses. Cris Tomos, Animation & Impact Officer, says: “.
