£10,700 for Milford Haven Port Authority

Arwain Sir Benfro – the Local Action Group (LAG) for Pembrokeshire, administered by PLANED –  have recently provided funding to Milford Haven Port Authority, through the LEADER programme. This project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities -Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government. The feasibility study has been commissioned to explore  The feasibility study has been commissioned to explore
The feasibility study has been commissioned to explore potential use and development of the former Victoria Filling Station and Grade II listed Quay Stores in Milford Haven, situated opposite the entrance to the newly branded Milford Waterfront. http://www.mhpa.co.uk/milford-waterfront-development/
The proposal offers a solution to the disconnect between Milford Waterfront and the town centre, an issue identified in the Barton Willmore study (2009), helping to make Milford Haven a more cohesive community.
The feasibility study will also explore how innovation can be brought into the new development and identify opportunities for social engagement contributing to the Well-Being of Future Generations Act.

This is just one example of the great projects being delivered in the county.  Arwain Sir Benfro is currently inviting submissions of project ideas from local community groups, organisations or businesses. Cris Tomos, Animation & Impact Officer, says: “. In 2016 Arwain Sir Benfro projects amounted to £1.2m and there is further funding and support available now in 2017.”
“If you have an innovative idea that could benefit your community, you may be able to get funding from the LEADER programme and we would love to hear from you.”
LEADER can support all kinds of activity: mentoring, training, feasibility studies or pilot projects that test an innovative new idea. It could also be used for projects that improve local skills, make better use of a local resource or realise the economic potential of part of the locality leading to a ‘new’ outcome or product.
