Pembrokeshire leads the way for community fridges

Pembrokeshire has a second permanent fridge open to the community. Bloomfield House Community Centre have received funding to run a permanent Community Fridge and Larder in Narberth, which will help to reduce food waste and destigmatise the use of surplus food.

Theme 2 open for Expressions of Interest 

Do you have ideas that could help develop business networks and skills in Pembrokeshire?  Are you interested in diversification or ways to shorten business supply chains?

We are pleased to say that we have a window open to accept Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for applications under Theme 2 of the LEADER fund.  Theme 2 can support projects that will help the facilitation of pre-commercial development, business partnerships and short supply chains.

Evaluating Arwain Sir Benfro

PLANED, on behalf of the Arwain Sir Benfro Local Action Group (LAG), is seeking to appoint consultants to undertake a midterm and final evaluation of the Local Action Group and LEADER activities being delivered as part of the EU & WG funded scheme.

The aim of the evaluation is to:

  1. Assess the impact of the scheme on Pembrokeshire, to measure its effectiveness against the targets, indicators and outcomes agreed with the Welsh Government.
  2. Assess the approach taken & success of the LAG in meeting its objectives. Evaluate and make recommendations.
  3. Inform and shape delivery of rural development support with suggestions for improvements.

This project is being funded through the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2014-2020 which is funded by the Welsh Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD)

A new research project to support Tenby Museum and Art Gallery has been made possible with funding by Arwain Sir Benfro.  The Museum for the Community Project explores options for the future of the Museum which reaches its 140th anniversary in 2018 and helps to place it the heart of Tenby.

The Pembrokeshire Association of Community Transport Organisations carried out a feasibility study to assess the potential for encouraging and facilitating lift-sharing in Pembrokeshire and the extent to which this could help to address transport needs within and around the County that aren’t currently being met.

The Cabinet Secretary is today publishing a Written Statement announcing the full panel membership, confirming the first meeting and announcing that they will shortly be issuing a call for evidence. This will be reconfirmed in a press release and at the One Voice Wales Conference tomorrow.

The Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 places a duty on each Public Services Board (PSB) to develop and publish a county Well-being Plan by May 2018. As part of the preparation of this Plan each PSB has undertaken a detailed Well-being Assessment of the social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of the county and the assessment, along with a series of engagement events, have been used to identify well-being objectives and aims for each county and the actions to make progress against those objectives.
